There have been more than 15 attempts at a women’s professional basketball in the United States, yet only a few films have documented the 40+ year journey from the beginning to present day. A LEAGUE OF OUR OWN presents a film that’s stylistically unlike any women’s basketball film. It’s narrated by Producer/Director, Fran Harris, who, after leading Texas to a 34-0 NCAA championship, was drafted to the never-got-off-the-ground WBA in 1986, selected as an alternate with the ABL’s Seattle Reign in 1996, and who was a member of the Houston Comets’ first WNBA Championship team in 1997. Her perspective and experience lend unique credibility to ALOOO. She also covered the WNBA as a Lifetime TV, FOX, and ESPM announcer for over 10 years. Fran appeared on Shark Tank in 2021, launching her premium sports drink, ELECTRA. She’s also the co-founder of The Athletic Club, a portfolio of sports complexes launching in Texas in 2023. She’s a graduate of The University of Texas where she earned a BA and MA in Journalism, and a Masters of Science in Technology Commercialization. A former Procter & Gamble sales executive, Fran built a successful speaker and biz consultant company that counts over 100 Fortune 100 companies as clients and customers.
